Good morning, Erin. Happy Valentine’s Day! …by which I mean this was supposed to be my Valentine’s gift to you, were it not for the…um, exciting start to February mucking up my carefully-planned schedule for 2025.  But—alas!—it was not meant to be, as is the case with so many of my plans. Letter #152: Vincenzo Re-Watch

Good morning, Erin. Fate intervenes at the strangest times.  …is a really overblown way of saying I suddenly felt like rewatching Vincenzo . Admittedly, it’s been a while since I jumped into it, so I can’t quite remember why I started—but the important thing is that I did it, that this is undoubtedly THE show you would want me to revisit, and that I don’t have nearly as many notes as I did last time! “...which means this letter will be twice as long as the first one?” I hear you say. To which I give a wry smile, because you know me so well. But also…no, it’ll be shorter. Promise. I mean, I haven’t started writing it, yet, but preamble-Daryl promises. With great sincerity. Letter #163.5: Love Untangled (A Half-Birthday Treat)

Good morning, Erin—and… …HAPPY HALF-BIRTHDAY! October is my favorite month, and, as ever, it’s a wonderful little start to the best time of year (not just October but the whole run-up to the end of the year, as I’ve discussed before) that we get to celebrate the halving of you. Well, of your current year of life. And by “we” I mean possibly mostly me, since, even if you read this on your half-birthday, and even if that could be counted as you celebrating along with me, I’ve no guarantee you don’t just speed past this part to the bulk of the letter, which is rarely a (direct) celebration of you. But, still, it makes me happy to have it as a fixed point in the year, even if it is only etched into my mental calendar.  So, what are we discussing today? And why does it belong here?
